My counseling specialties
Couples & Families
Are you struggling with your family members? Do you often wonder what happened to your relationship with your child? With your spouse? I help break patterns of fighting and struggling so that families get along better.
Men’s therapy
Do you feel anxious, empty, or out of control? Do you feel like you have to “hold it together” but sometimes feel like your life is slipping apart? Talking with a counselor can help.
Young adult
I work with teens who are angry, withdrawn, depressed, oppositional, anxious, distracted, fighting, failing classes, using drugs/alcohol, or are having trouble adjusting to a new life situation.
Counseling Approach
In my Malvern counseling office, I see adults and families who want a thorough counseling experience.
I believe counseling is more than “all talk,” and that successful therapy is about doing things differently – both in and out of the therapy session.
We will work together to make small changes each day that will lead to growth and change. You or your family can get better.
I work from a developmental perspective in helping individuals and families. People often get “stuck” during different life stages. These difficult periods, while sometimes predictable, don’t come with owner’s manuals. There are other life events that are unexpected – such as divorce, addiction, unexpected death, abuse, to name a few – that stress family relationships. Therapy can help you develop a guidebook for change.
Most people appreciate my warm, straightforward approach.
I have advanced training in Family Therapy, as well as in various forms of individual treatment. I am licensed in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
