Chris Williams is a child, teen, and adult therapist who practices individual and family counseling in suburban Philadelphia on the Main Line in Bryn Mawr and Malvern, Pennsylvania. He specializes in teen counseling and family therapy, as well as adult treatment of anxiety, depression, and men’s issues.
Education and Training
Chris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). This involves performing 3,000 hours of supervised work, as well as passing a state licensing exam.
He has extensive training in child and family therapy.
He has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from West Chester University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University.
Chris has advanced training and certification through a 3-year, post-graduate training program in Family Therapy through the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center.
He has additional training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) through the Beck Institute, a world-renowned training center. Also, he has intensive training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), a form of therapy designed to develop internal motivation.
Professional work experience includes positions with Child Guidance Resource Centers’ Family First program and Penn Medicine’s Outpatient Psychiatry Center.
Chris is married and a parent — and owns a Pug. He enjoys exercising, reading, writing, and spending time with his family.
