Are you or your teen angry, withdrawn, or stressed out? Are there problems in your relationships or in your family? Do you often feel like you’re spinning your wheels?
I am an active therapist who will help you make meaningful, lasting change in your life. I offer a warm, compassionate, and active therapy experience in a comfortable, confidential office setting.
I provide counseling to adults, teens, children, and families in Rosemont/Bryn Mawr and Malvern on the Philadelphia Main Line.
Scheduling a counseling session for your teen or yourself is a great first step in getting unstuck and starting to feel better.
My counseling specialties
I work with teens who are angry, withdrawn, depressed, oppositional, anxious, distracted, fighting, failing classes, using drugs/alcohol, or are having trouble adjusting to a new life situation.
Are you struggling with your family members? Do you often wonder what happened to your relationship with your child? With your spouse? I help break patterns of fighting and struggling so that families get along better.
Do you feel anxious, empty, or out of control? Do you feel like you have to “hold it together” but sometimes feel like your life is slipping apart? Talking with a counselor can help.
In my Bryn Mawr and Malvern counseling offices, I see adults, teens, and families who want a thorough counseling experience.
I believe counseling is more than “all talk,” and that successful therapy is about doing things differently – both in and out of the therapy session.
We will work together to make small changes each day that will lead to growth and change. You or your teen can get better.
I work from a developmental perspective in helping individuals and families. People often get “stuck” during different life stages. These difficult periods, while sometimes predictable, don’t come with owner’s manuals. There are other life events that are unexpected – such as divorce, addiction, unexpected death, abuse, to name a few – that stress family relationships. Therapy can help you develop a guidebook for change.
Most people appreciate my warm, straightforward approach.
I have advanced training in Family Therapy, as well as in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, an evidenced-based form of treatment for a variety of problems. I am licensed in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I offer three levels of care:
- Consultation – a one-time meeting to do a brief assessment, and offer professional recommendations and suggestions.
- Assessment – often 3-4 sessions of extended assessment to gain a deeper understanding of the presenting problem, strengths, and barriers. At the end of the assessment period, I will offer clinical recommendations for home-based strategies and/or professional care. If needed, I can write a full biopsychosocial assessment report.
- Ongoing therapy – continued care in a consistent fashion. Oftentimes I will see clients for a course of treatment of 10-15 sessions, or shorter or longer depending on need.
Please email or call me to set up a complimentary, 15-minute initial phone call or in-person meet. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. Please browse my website for more information as well.
